We’re seeking nominations for two officer positions, Vice President/President-Elect and Secretary. The deadline to nominate yourself or someone else is Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

The Vice President/President-Elect and Secretary positions are open to any professional academic librarians in Louisiana who are members of ACRL or ACRL-LA (or are willing to join). Each officer’s duties are outlined in Article V of the chapter’s current bylaws (ratified 2024) and summarized below.

Vice President/President-Elect

• The Vice President/President-Elect shares the responsibility with the current President for coordinating the development of workshops and programs, conducts meetings in the President’s absence, and is responsible for holding the Chapters’ elections. They serve as a member of the ACRL Chapters Council and as such must be a national member of ACRL.
• The Vice President/President-Elect will serve a three-year term, from September 1, 2026–August 31, 2029, one year as Vice President/President-Elect, one year as President, and one year as Past President.

Secretary

• The Secretary compiles the official membership roster and takes minutes at meetings. The Secretary is also a member of the Membership Committee.
• The Secretary will serve a two-year term, from September 1, 2026–August 31, 2028.
